About Saltaire
The Saltaire property sits on the corner of Duck Road – within easy walking distance to world-class dining, water sports, fishing supplies, homemade ice cream, fruit stands and unique shopping – and Marlin Drive, which is a private road that ends in a cul-de-sac with private beach access. Offering both privacy and access to all Duck has to offer, The Saltaire House is an ideal location for couples, families, and rentals that include special events.
We have our own cleaning crew that spends the change-over day keeping Saltaire one of the best kept rental homes available. The house is 7,206 sq. ft., built in Victorian style a few years ago, and consists of three levels with sleeping accommodations for up to 16 guests and an elevator. The property is surrounded by professionally landscaped Gardens enclosed by half walls and shade trees making this the perfect place to host Family Reunions, Corporate Retreats and Outer Banks Garden Weddings and Receptions for Beach Ceremonies on the Outer Banks.
A heated saltwater Pool, Gazebo with outdoor wet bar and gas grill, and covered wrap-around Porch provide ample space for outdoor entertaining, day or night. The Living Room opens via two sets of French doors to this entertainment area, while surround sound services the entire First Floor, Porch and Pool upon request.

Indoors
Entrance: The entryway of The Saltaire is spacious, welcoming and bright with sunlight, showcasing gorgeous Brazilian Cherry hardwood floors that run throughout the house and a gorgeous crystal chandelier. A grand staircase with balcony overlooking the second floor that is perfect for photo opportunities for brides wishing to make an unforgettable entrance. A turn left takes guests into the formal Dining Room. A turn right brings guests into the Living Room, or down a short hall leading to the Pub Room.
The Living Room: The Living Room of The Saltaire is warm, expansive and finely appointed with elegant furnishings. The room offers guests three distinct sitting areas within the open-concept room to encourage opportunities for conversation and ideal flow of guests during events. Two sets of double French doors that flank the gas fireplace open onto the wrap-around porch with a view and access to the Gazebo and Pool areas, so that guests may flow easily from indoors to outdoors during events. An alcove featuring a baby grand piano under a crystal chandelier provides options for live music. The Living Room flows from the Entryway on one end, the Pool in the middle wall, and the Pub Room on the opposite end.
Dining Room: The Dining Room of The Saltaire offers formal entertaining options with a table that seats up to 16 guests, and a granite banquet server that runs the length of the room. The Saltaire provides personal chef and catering options for guests, as well as table service (dinnerware, glassware, silverware) for up to 125 guests. The Dining Room is accessed by the Entryway, then exits to the Kitchen from the other end of the room for the convenience of service.
The Pub Room: The Saltaire's Pub Room features a handcrafted bar fully stocked with glassware. The room is paneled in oak, highlighted by stained glass light fixtures and appointed with brown leather furniture. The room offers an entertainment system that includes cable television, CD/DVD disc changer, iPod ports and surround sound that may be turned on in each individual room on the first level and the wrap-around porch. The Pub Room may be closed off for intimate gatherings, or left open to flow between the Kitchen and Living Room. The Pub Room includes a generous half-bath and additional entrance to the Gardens outside.
Gourmet Kitchen: The Saltaire Kitchen is custom designed for event catering. The Kitchen features stainless steel appliances including a six-burner gas range with two ovens, three over-sized refrigerators and dishwasher. The room provides generous prep areas and is stocked with small appliances such as microwave, toasters, and blender. The Gourmet Kitchen is situated between the Dining Room and Pub Room to provide easy access for caterers to service areas. The rear entrance of the house is off this room, with additional parking for service providers.
Theater Room: The Saltaire offers a space on the bottom level of the house that may be used as an additional entertainment area, Game Room, or space for business meetings. The room features a pool table, foosball table and card table with poker set, as well as a wet bar fully stocked with glassware, wine cooler, and ice maker. A theater system highlights this space, highlighted by a 72" television and cable television channels. A surround sound system with CD/DVD changer and iPod ports provides for the ultimate in sound.
Bedrooms
Each room at The Saltaire is immaculately cleaned, tastefully decorated with comfortable antique pieces, and features quality bedding and linens. All rooms feature a private en-suite bath stocked with towels, hairdryer and light toiletries, as well as a dresser and spacious closet holding two cotton robes and a standing oscillating fan for guest's convenience. An alarm clock sits on each bed. There is a telephone with local service in the sitting area outside of the rooms, with an additional telephone inside the Bridal Suite. An elevator provides access to all levels.
The King Master Suite: The King Suite is one of our largest suite, designed in ivory and gold tones to provide elegant, relaxing space. The suite is bright and spacious, furnished with fine antique pieces that offer a blend of comfort and luxury. The room sleeps two guests on a king bed dressed in quality linens and features a large sitting area, en-suite bath with claw-foot tub and marble shower, and a walk-in closet to be coveted! The room is on the east side of the house, overlooking the pool and gardens, offering a panoramic view of The Saltaire property, and shares half of the second floor with the Yellow Room. The suite is perfect for romantic getaways and anniversary celebrations.
The Green Suite: Overlooking Duck Villiage Road through shade trees, the Green Suite sits at the northwest corner of the house, sharing the west half of the floor with the Twin and Blue Rooms. It is the most spacious room after the Bridal Suite, providing guests ample opportunity to spread out during their stay. The suite offers a gorgeous space to enjoy a romantic getaway. The suite sleeps two guests on a four-poster queen bed dressed in quality linens and boasts a sitting area, antique dresser, en-suite bath with standing shower and generous walk-in closet. The room is accented with rich reds, greens and browns.
The Girls Room (Queen & Two Twins): The Twin Room sleeps 4 guests on a queen bed & two luxury single beds all dressed in quality linens with accents of mauve and green. The room is large enough to accommodate a sitting area for guests to relax privately during their stay. The room features an en-suite bath with standing shower, large dresser and a closet that easily holds clothing for two. This room sits between the Green Suite and Blue Room, facing west with a view of Duck Road and the Gardens through tall trees. It is ideal for non-couple guests and families traveling with younger children.
The Blue Room: Decorated in gorgeous hues of blue, white and gold, the Blue Room offers a tranquil space for guests to relax during their stay. The room sleeps two on a four-poster queen bed dressed in quality linens and features a spacious en-suite bath with standing shower. A large ottoman provides additional seating in the room. Guests will be able to unpack easily into a large dresser and spacious closet. This room sits at the southwest corner of the house, sharing a wall with the Twin Room. The Blue Room is a generous accommodation to be enjoyed by any guest.
The Yellow Room: Pretty room with a queen size bed. The room features an en-suite bath with standing shower, large dresser and a spacious closet.
The Bunk Room (Queen & Two Bunk Beds, Sleeps 6): For this season we added a Queen bed to our Bunk Room which is perfect for Singles, 6 children or just a couple that wants a lot of space and a huge bathroom all to themselves. The Bunk Room is our largest bedroom located on the bottom floor of the house. Although it shares the floor with the Theater & Game Room, it is actually quite private. The room includes a television with digital cable including HBO movie channels, CD/DVD player, and iPod ports. The Bunk Room is festively decorated in coastal blues, greens, and whites and sleeps up to four guests on two sets of single bunk beds. A true delight of this space is the large en-suite bath. The steam shower features a rainwater shower head and full-body jets and the spa tub is large and inviting.
Outdoors
The Saltaire property offers many outdoor areas for guests to enjoy. The house features a large covered wrap-around porch with cozy seating areas and ceiling fans. The porch may be set up with tables to provide dining options for up to 30 guests. Umbrellaed dining sets also line the pool. A Gazebo is attached to the house, adjacent to the Pool and Gardens, and features a wet bar, gas grill, and loo, along with covered seating for guests during outdoor events.
The Gardens: The Gardens on The Saltaire Property are professionally landscaped and lush, providing the perfect backdrop to enjoy spring, summer and fall. The new putting green is a big hit with young and old alike. Kids all love the big playground set. The Guests enjoy private beach access after a short walk down Marlin Drive to the water.
Pool: The Saltaire property features a private heated saltwater swimming Pool with whirlpool and waterfall, located just off the Porch, accessible via French doors from the Living Room. This area is simply gorgeous and provides an ultimate option for outdoor entertaining. The Pool is surrounded by a fence with multiple gate accesses and is adorned with chairs for sunning and three outdoor dining sets. The Pool area offers a view of the Gardens and is adjacent to the Gazebo, which features shaded seating for guests, outdoor wet bar & mini kitchen along with big gas grill, and half bath.
